C. G. Griffin, 89, of Big Spring, died Saturday, November 3, 2012, at his residence.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Walter McCall and Dennis Etherege, officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, November 5, 2012, at the funeral home.

He was born May 20, 1923, in Big Spring, Texas and married Norma Henry March 15, 1947 in Big Spring, Texas.

C. G. was a lifelong resident of Big Spring and had served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as the golf pro at Big Spring Country Club for many years, retiring in 1981 and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Griffin of Big Spring; his daughter-in-Law, Donna Griffin of Irving; two grandchildren, Amber Griffin of Los Angeles, California and Tanner and Amanda Griffin and their daughter, Addison, of Austin; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pat and Paul Herchman of Lubbock; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Lilly Griffin; a son, Teddy Griffin; and his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and John Bennett.

The family suggests memorials be made to American Cancer Society, % Carolyn Brooks, P. O. Box 2121, Big Spring, Texas 79721-2121 or to a favorite charity.
