Bill Henkel, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2006 in Big Spring, Texas. Bill was born on September 26, 1924 in Kress, TX to George and Lou Ella Henkel. He was raised and educated in Hale Center, TX.

Bill served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the south pacific. He married Patsy Kelley on December 20, 1954. They moved to Big Spring, TX. in 1960. Bill and Pat owned and operated Super Sav Grocery Stores. In 1980, they opened Joeboy's Restaurant. Bill later moved to Midland and opened Cattleman's Steak House for 20 years. He was a loving husband, father grandfather and brother. A great friend too many. He would always help those in need.

He was preceded in death by two sisters; Ruth Ella Henkel and Lucy Tipton.

Bill is survived by his wife Pat; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Keri Henkel of Pawhuska, OK; two daughters and son-in-laws, Betty and Lee Bennett of Coahoma, TX and Beverly and Bruce Lisooey of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren, Joey Henkel of Granite Falls, NC, Justin Mundell of Midland, TX, Jay Chadwell of Dallas, TX, Cassie Henkel of Irving, TX and Sean and Madi Lisooey of Tulsa, OK; three great-grandchildren; and sisters Helen Henkel and Elenor Stone of Lubbock, TX .

The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home on Monday, November 27, 2006 between the hours of 9:30 A.M. and 11:00 A.M.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 27, 2006 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert J. Pase officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Van - serving the visually impaired 2908 W. Ohio Ave, Midland, TX 79701 or Alzheimer's Association 4400 N. Big Spring, Midland, TX 79701.
