Jerry Knox Roach, 88, of Big Spring, died Monday, July 17, 2017 in a local hospital.
Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Lindsey, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.
He was born November 28, 1928 in Stamford, Texas.
He married Ruth Fox November 11, 1960 in Monahans, Texas and she preceded him in death in April 2001. He then married Emma Carr in September 2007 and she preceded him in death May 18, 2017.
Jerry served in the United States Navy as a Seaman 1st Class from September 1950 to July 1954.
He worked for Gulf Oil Company, which later became a part of Chevron Oil Company, for over 45 years, retiring in 1992.
He was an avid golfer and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Jacqueline Renee Roach of Hurst; his twin brother, Louie Ox Roach of Santa Monica, California; three step-daughters, Donna Davis and husband, Rex of Gardendale, Mary Swaney of Dallas and Rhonda Harding and husband, Joe of Vincent; two step-sons, Rodney Carr and Richard Carr both of Big Spring; one sister-in-law, Ann Fox of Big Spring; and numerous grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold Roach and Rodney Roach; and one sister, Shirley Manhart.
The family suggests memorials to Howard County Council of Aging, Mobile Meals, P. O. Box 765, Big Spring, Texas 79721-0765.
