Funeral Mass for Ernesto Iglesias, age 67 of Seminole, Texas, will be celebrated Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Jose De Dios Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. Rosary will be held at St. James Catholic Church from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2024. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
Mr. Iglesias was born June 11, 1957 in Mexico to Clemencia (Montanez) and Pilar Iglesias. He married Sylvia Garcia in Seminole, Texas January 23, 1978. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and worked for Gaines County Prescient 4. Ernesto was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard working, simple man with great values and enjoyed listening to music, dancing, watching Texas Rangers, family feud, sharing his stories with others, drinking coffee and eating his honey bunnies. He told everyone he married his angel.
Ernesto Iglesias passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Jesus Iglesias. He is survived by his angel wife, Sylvia Iglesias of Seminole; four sons, Ernesto Iglesias, Jr. and wife Nelda, Pilar Iglesias, both of Midland, Texas, David Iglesias and wife Eva, and Julio Iglesias and wife Ashley, both of Seminole; one daughter, Sylvia Ramos and husband Ray of Midland, Texas; two brothers, Aldolfo Iglesias and wife Fatima of Shallowater, Texas, and Jorge Iglesias of Mexico; two sisters, Velia Iglesias, and Carmen Huerta and husband Manuel, both of Mexico; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
