Peter Paul Van Pelt, 73, died Thursday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Nalley-Pickle Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. R. Gage Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park.

Mr. Van Pelt was born Feb. 22, 1898, in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was an engineer for Texas and Pacific Rwy. Co. He retired in 1969. He came to America in 1919 and married Mrs. Ethel Snowden in 1931. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel; one son, William Paul (Chop) Van Pelt, Odessa; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Willard Sullivan, W. H. Kay, Howard Lowe, Perry Bradford, R. G. Goodson and J. L. Millican.
