*When James Wesley Searcy was born on October 15, 1833, in North Carolina, his father, Benjamin, was 43 and his mother, Mary, was 37. He married Julia Ann Herrick on July 27, 1854, in Marion, Georgia. They had ten children in 26 years. He died on November 27, 1925, in Cherokee, Texas, at the age of 92, and was buried in Mason, Texas.
