Carroll C. Turlington, 88, of Big Spring, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Veterans Administrative Medical Center.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Myers & Smith Chapel with Elwin Collom, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
He was born November 26, 1926 in Barstow, Texas to Lorine (Champ) and Dee Turlington.
He married Inez Kimball in 1959 in Monahans, Texas and she preceded him in death on July 20, 2006.
He was a veteran of World War II servicing with military police in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He received the Army Occupation Medal. His awards also included Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
He had been a resident of Big Spring for over 40 years.
He was a pumper for Chevron for 35 years.
He enjoyed walking and fishing.
He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by two granddaughters: Lynda Walker of Big Spring and Mala Spence and husband Keith of Vail, Arizona; four grandsons: Terry Duncan and wife Angel of Snyder, Barry Kimball and wife Jerri of Colorado City, Bobby Kimball and wife Linda of Jal, New Mexico and Bruce Kimball and wife Vicki of San Angelo; a daughter-in-law: Betty Kimball of Colorado City and a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister Mamie.
He is now walking with the angels on his daily walks.
