Funeral services for Juan "Johnny" Garza, age 71 of Denver City, Texas, will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Seminole, Texas with Pastor Gilbert Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Memorial Chapel of Denver City, in association with Boyer Funeral Home of Seminole.

Mr. Garza was born in Seminole on January 7, 1953 to Lydia (Villarreal) and Vivian Garza, Jr. He married Rose Mary Gomez in Seminole on June 14, 2000. He was a Christian and worked in the oilfield. He enjoyed talking about God and telling anyone he could. He had a great sense of humor and always tried to help others. Johnny enjoyed collecting coins and owned a snow cone truck called The Blue Star.

Johnny Garza passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at his home in Denver City, Texas. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Rose Mary Garza of Denver City; three sons, Juan Manuel Garza, Jr. and wife Blanca of Santa Maria, California, Gabriel Garcia and wife Keri of Lubbock, Texas, and Rocky Garza of Hobbs, New Mexico; seven daughters, Heriverta Garza of Palm Dale, California, Michelle Garza of Oklahoma, Isabella Garza of Denver City, Frances Garza and husband Sam of Lubbock, Texas, Mary Ann Madrid and husband Cesar of Lovington, New Mexico, Gabrielle Martinez and husband Jose of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Ysabel Garza of California; four brothers, Sammy Garza and wife Monica, Henry Garza and wife Dora, and Joe Garza, all of Hobbs, New Mexico, and LeRoy Garza of Lovington, New Mexico; five sisters, Oralia Medina and husband Andrew, Rachel Ortega, Yolanda Adalco and husband Jose, and Brenda Garza, all of Hobbs, New Mexico, and Senaida Castillo of Big Spring, Texas; 42 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
