*Obituary
Donald Wayne Vandergrift, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on February 19th, 2024 in Jarrell, Texas. He was born on May 31st, 1965, in Camden, New Jersey to Clara and Edward Vandergrift. He lived in New Jersey most of his life, but moved to Texas last year to spend more time with his daughters.

Don will be deeply missed by his daughters Teena Malina, and her husband Joey of Jarrell, Crystal Vandergrift, and her husband Russell McCray of Granite Shoals, as well as his siblings Clara Blakeslee, William, Robert, Katherine Lopez, and James. He is preceded in death by his mother Clara Vandergrift (nee McGuiness), father Edward Vandergrift, brothers Edward, Charles, and Daniel, as well as sisters Margaret Yates, and Mary Henry.

Don's life was filled with joyous moments that he shared with those around him. Don was a construction worker by trade. He was a true multitasker and was always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. Don was an avid pool player who also loved fishing and gardening in his spare time. His love for cartoons knew no bounds; he could often be found watching Marvel comics, Dragon Ball Z, or watching old Westerns.

But it wasn't just hobbies that defined Don - it was also the way he connected with people through laughter. He was known as a big jokester who loved to play cards and perform card tricks for friends and family alike. His warm smile would light up any room he entered.

A celebration of life memorial will be held in New Jersey at a later date where Don's family can come together to honor his memory.

The loss of Donald Wayne Vandergrift leaves an unfillable void in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit lives on through the memories we hold dear - memories that bring comfort during this difficult time.
