Daniel Uhlik, 64, of Georgetown, TX, passed away on February 5th, 2024, from a heart attack. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on December 8th, 1959. He graduated from Washington High School and continued his education, graduating from The University of Kansas. Dan and Betty were married for 29 wonderful years.

Dan is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Lacy and Lindsey Uhlik; parents, Matt and Joan Uhlik; brother, Chris Uhlik (Jeri); brother, Mark Uhlik (Tina); sister, Lisa Allmond (Neal); and sister, Susan Uhlik. Dan is preceded in death by sister, Michelle Byers.

After a successful career in sales, Dan retired in Atlanta at age 47 to spend time with his girls. To be closer to family, they moved to Marysville, Kansas, where he gained a few new titles: hunting guide Dan, realtor Dan, and coach Dan. After 5 years, he traded in the cold weather for the ocean breezes in Port Aransas, Texas, where he spent 7 years at a slower pace of life. His last stop was Sun City in Georgetown, Texas, where he and his wife enjoyed the active lifestyle of a retirement community.

No matter where his feet were planted, he provided a welcoming home. Dan loved nothing more than preparing home-cooked meals to share with his family and friends gathered around his kitchen table. This created cherished memories and conversations that will be treasured for generations to come. Dan was commonly known as Mr. Dan, Uncle Dan, Chef Dan, Lieutenant Dan, Dan the Man, but his favorite title of all was Dad. Dan enjoyed practical life planning and philosophical observations with a ready list of societal trends for late-night discussions. He was a family-driven man with a desire to provide, build a legacy through his daughters, and never pass on an opportunity to help a friend.

Recently, Dan was asked, “How do you want to be remembered?” and his direct quote was, “That I loved my wife and daughters unconditionally, always and forever.”
