Zeke, as he was known by all, was born on April 29, 1978, in New Braunfels, Texas. He is the son of Mary Morrison, Jimmy Goolsby, and Albert Thielman. Zeke grew up in San Marcos and Austin, Texas, and attended Lanier High School in Austin where he participated in FFA and enjoyed showing livestock at the local county fairs. As an adult, Zeke enjoyed riding motorcycles, and playing disc golf and was an accomplished pool player. Zeke is one of six children. He is survived by brother Jake Thielman and wife Amanda of Wimberly, sister Christa Coons and husband Craig of Decatur, sister Kelly Guerra of Marble Falls, Brother Allen Goolsby and wife Jane of Georgetown, and sister Rhonda Goolsby of Georgetown. Zeke welcomed his only child, a daughter Nola on January 8, 2009. He took tremendous pride and pleasure in Nola’s many academic achievements. Zeke is survived by his longtime friend and roommate Tracey Blazer.
Zeke was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Goolsby of Cedar Park, grandfather Charles Eugene Thielman of Paris, Grandparents Dale and Harriet Lee of Fremont Iowa, Grandparents Herman and Pauline Goolsby of Lamesa, and grandmother Betty Fitzgerald of Austin.
Zeke is survived by his devoted mother Mary Morrison and husband Steve of Pflugerville, Albert Thielman of Paris, and grandmother Dorothy Thielman of Paris. Zeke is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In Zeke’s passing, may we all remember to pray for and lift up one another. In our sadness and later in our joy, may we treasure our loved ones and the time spent together. Until we join together with him in Heaven, let us remember Zeke with love.
