Robert Allen Hargrove passed away peacefully in his home in Austin, Tx on Sunday, January 7th, 2024. Robert AKA Bob Hargrove was born in Dallas, Texas on October 30th, 1945. He was the only son of Grace and Fletcher Hargrove and brother to his sister Ann McMahon. He graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas and from the University of Texas at Austin in 1968. Bob had a generous spirit and was known for his friendly and happy nature and love of music. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Jo Lynn Hargrove, sister Ann McMahon, daughter Kimberly Hargrove, stepson David Smith and many cousins including Dave Ramsey, Janet Davis, and nephews Chris, Mark, and Steve McMahon. Robert Allen Hargrove will be laid to rest on Saturday January 20th,2024, at 2:00 pm at the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, at 2800 Hancock Drive. The family is planning a short graveside service where friends and family are invited to share stories and songs in celebration of Bob’s life. Please contact Kimberly Hargrove if you would like to speak or play music. We are expected to vacate the cemetery by 3 pm.
Bob always told us to celebrate together upon his passing. There will be a gathering at Scholz Garten afterwards for anyone who would like more time together. The family is open to other suggestions for the location of the gathering.
