Roland Castruita was the fourth of five siblings. Born November 12, 1949, to the late Frank and Cecilia Castruita in Austin, Tx.
He graduated from Austin High School and played in Tejano bands in Austin and across the United States. He met his wife, Dora, while playing shows locally and on February 17, 1968, they were married and later had three daughters.
He began his career in printing and later opened a consulting company, R&R Print Co., with his long-time colleague and friend, Rip Wright.
He leaves behind: a loving wife, Dora Castruita; three daughters: Leticia Ysla and husband Lupe Ysla of Mansfield, TX, AnnMarie Melendrez and husband Dean Melendrez of Austin, TX and Tara Vela and husband Chris Vela of New Orleans, LA; three siblings: Richard Castruita of Austin, TX, Sylvia Flores of Austin, TX, and Gabriel Castruita of Ft. Worth, TX; and seven grandchildren, Mathew Castro, Stephen Melendrez, Zachary Castro, Andrew Castro, Alyssa Castro, Nicholas Melendrez and Noah Melendrez; a great-grandchild, Daniel Castro and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Cecilia Castruita and brother, Frank Castruita, Jr.
A private memorial will be held in January.
