*Obituary
Theodore Peter Simin, age 73, of Garland, Texas went to his Lord on Thursday January 30, 2020 after a prolonged battle with life-long depression and his recent failure to thrive and newly diagnosed form of an auto-immune disease.

Ted was born April 6, 1946 in Windsor, Ontario Canada. He was a Journeyman toolmaker and a CNC programmer. Ted was a loving and devoted husband and father of two, grandfather of six. He loved gardening, fishing, woodworking, animals and babies. Ted was also known for his gentleness, kindness and goofy humor. Ted loved taking care of the babies in Kidcreek—he would rock, and feed snacks, and get on the floor and play. He loved and missed his Border Collie, Buddy. Ted enjoyed his garden and being outside. He was the ultimate handyman. He was quick to help his neighbors and would always stop and visit with them.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Kathrine, his brothers James and Dennis, his sister-in-law Mary Ann Simin and his brother-in-law Richard Mohr.

Ted is survived by Sue, his wife of 54 years, his son, Timothy, his daughter, Jennifer, his brother, Gerald, his nephews Ken, Karl and David Simin, his nieces Kathy Jo Kahn, Barbara Searl, Ashley Simin, and Lauren Illiadis, and his grandchildren Julia, Sydnie, Alec and Noah Simin and Owen and Holden Burkett.

A Celebration of Life for Ted will be held on Friday, February 14th at 1:00 pm at Woodcreek Church, 3400 East Renner Road, Richardson, TX 75082. The church will provide coffee, tea and some of Ted’s favorite desserts. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Ted’s honor to the Humane Society.
