*Obituary
Roy Emmett Supulski, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, athlete, musician and avid animal lover passed peacefully in his sleep on April 30, 2019 at his home in Carrollton, Texas.

Roy was the son of the late Ernest Supulski and Bertha (Wolfe) of Dallas, PA. He is survived by his three children along with their spouses, Erin Corne (Bill) of Worcester, PA, Lauren Burris (Cody) of Corinth, TX and Andrew Supulski (Mikaela) of Los Angeles, CA as well as his three beloved grandchildren, Paige and Shane Corne and Carson Burris. Roy was also survived by his brother Ernest (Sue) of Athens, AL, sister Cindy Siglin of Dallas, PA, sister Bertha Quadrini (Joe) of Larksville, PA, brother Jeff (Linda) of Carrollton, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his dogs Marley and Lena.

Roy was a graduate of Dallas High School, Dallas, PA class of 1967 where he was an accomplished athlete in football, basketball, baseball and track. He then graduated with the class of 1971 from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA where he played football and was a member of the All-Ivy League Track Team in 1970 and 1971. He set long-standing university records in track’s 440 relay and the sprint relay. Roy’s athletic career culminated in being named Penn’s “Outstanding Track Man” and winning the indoor and outdoor HEPS (The Ivy League Heptagonal Track and Field Championships) in 1971. According to one of Roy’s collegiate teammates and lifelong friends, “Roy was our go to guy. The open 100, 200, and at least one relay were his meet assignments. In the HEPS he’d run the open races, anchor the 4x100 and run a leg on the 4x400. During his years at Penn he was a HEPS champ, All Ivy, a national NCAA participant and a great teammate to everyone!”

Following Roy’s collegiate athletic success, his passion turned to playing guitar and making music whenever he could. He has been a member of many bands and musical collaborations over the past 52+ years which brought him tremendous joy. After retirement Roy began doing volunteer work for Operation Kindness, a no-kill animal shelter in Carrollton, TX where he was able to place hundreds of dogs with their adopting “forever families” and had a special gift of working with large-breed dogs.

Roy instilled in all three of his children a great love of animals, music and sports. Through that legacy, his memory will live on in the music they make, the sports his grandchildren play and in all the animals they love and care for. Although his life was too short, because of this legacy, it was a great success and he will be truly missed by many.

A memorial for Roy will be held this Monday, May 6th, at the Fox and Hound Restaurant, Midway Rd. Dallas, TX at 6 PM with a Christian service being led by Chaplain Sidecar of the Rushing Wind Biker Church of Corinth, TX and musical tributes by his children and fellow worshippers.

Future memorials are being planned for Thanksgiving 2019 in Dallas, TX (a collaboration of his many musician friends from the years) as well as a memorial in Dallas, PA in March 2020 (around his birthday) in his childhood town he loved so much.
