*Obituary
Mike was born on March 18th, 1971, and graduated to Heaven on January 27th, 2021, at the age of 49. He was a loving, caring, genuine father, brother, son, and friend.

Always creative, he adored visual arts and often painted during his free time. He was a deep thinker and writing was his passion, but he also excelled at comforting people. His love for martial arts led him to practice Tai Chi on his own, and Kendo, Capoeira, and Krav Maga with his children. He also taught many of us that gaming is a very cool hobby.

During his major studies in Japanese Language and Culture at UT, he went on a mission trip to Japan, which strengthened his love for the country and culture. That was also when he met his future wife, Toshie. After graduation, he moved to Japan, got married in 1994, and had two children, Alexis Amane and Jean Minami — he was so proud of them! As a faithful member of Chiba Church for many years, he had a great impact on people, especially children. He utilized his creative and linguistic skills for his many careers, such as teaching English, working for TBS, Cookie Jar, Toneplus, his own business Auxhiler, and other occupations as a creative project manager.

After he moved back to Texas in 2017, he became an active member of Meadows Baptist Church of Plano, where he made many more friends. He volunteered to serve as a part of the tech team until the pandemic outbreak, and was eager to get back on. Spending time with his children was his top priority. He looked forward to weekly Skype calls with Jean, and loved spending time checking out cool restaurants and cooking with Amane. With friends, he enjoyed playing DND and was very passionate about his extremely unique characters and often did the unexpected.

He was survived by his children, Amane and Jean; sisters, Wyndie and Stephanie; brothers, Kristopher, Mark, and Mike B; parents, Juanita, Patricia, Bobby, and Sue Ellen; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and fur babies he adored.

A memorial service is scheduled for March 13 at 1:00 PM at Meadows Baptist Church, with streaming available at meadowsbaptist.org.
