*Obituary
George David Belton, III of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away peacefully in Plano, Texas on Saturday, August 21st, at the age of 63.

George is preceded in death by his parents George and Dolores Belton, and Sister Vestella McClindon. George is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jamie Belton, children Daniel and Shanel Belton, and grandchildren Jasmine, Samyira and Marcus. He is also survived by his brother Alvin Belton, sister Greer and her husband Craig Robinson and extended family and friends.

George was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 1, 1958. He loved sports, especially football, and the New Orleans Saints were his favorite team to watch. He also loved the military life. He served as Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps for 15 years and retired after serving 7 years with the Army National Guard.

George was a loyal man, who would do anything for the people he loved. He brought playfulness and laughter to his friends and family. He was an excellent judge of character and gave insightful advice to anyone who needed it. He will be unimaginably missed by those who knew him best and loved him.

A private memorial will be held by immediate family in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Staff Sergeant George Belton’s name to the Wounded Warriors Project:
