Rick Compton, 68, of Gainesville, Texas and faithful follower of Jesus Christ, peacefully passed away on December 25, 2021, well loved by many, after complications of COVID-19.
Rick was born on June 14, 1953 to Darius and Roberta Compton in Detroit, Michigan. Rick graduated from Bentley High School in Livonia, Michigan in 1971 and pursued a degree in Accounting at Eastern Michigan University. After graduation, Rick had a successful career in the accounting industry as a Cost Accountant for various companies. He was always valued not only for his skills but for his work ethic, loyalty, honesty and integrity. Rick loved accounting and enjoyed his career path. But it was his family that he was passionate about.
Rick met a young lady named Denise Siira, who forever changed his life. Rick and Denise met in high school when he was 17 and she was 15. The couple later married on March 15, 1975 surrounded by family and friends who celebrated the beginning of what would be a long and loving marriage of 46 years. Rick and Denise are blessed to have 3 children, Scott, Matthew and Jackie.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, Darius and Roberta Compton, his sister, Rita Morris, his sisters-in-law, Gail Clazie, Cynthia Siira and Judith Ellis, brothers-in-law, Eric Siira and Ronald Siira, along with his son-in-law Marcus Wiggins, all of whom he deeply loved.
Rick is survived by his loving wife, Denise Compton, his son, Scott Compton, his wife, Lisa and their children, James, Madeline, Emily, Sophia and Bette Sue, his son, Matthew Compton and his wife, Rebecca, his daughter, Jackie Wiggins and her children, Ryan and Mason, his sisters, Pat Ostach, Jacqueline Justin, Kathryn Strobel, Dianne Knox, sister-in-law, Pamela Siira, and his lovable fur baby, Emma.
A Celebration of Life Service to honor Rick and his family will be held at Gracepointe Church in Denton, Texas, January 8, 2022, at 2:00 pm CST.
