Our father, James Bruce “Jim” Kilpatrick passed away on July 7, 2022, at the age of 75, in McKinney, Texas. After retiring from a long career in teaching in Hawaii and Texas, Dad returned to his first true love of writing, having authored several books in recent years (http://www.kimokilpatrick.com/). He continued to be a diehard University of Hawai’i football fan, and a lover of all things Hawai’i.
Jim is survived by his wife Anita, daughter Diane (Steve) and son Sean, grandsons Joshua, Matthew, and Nathan, brother Jay (Elizabeth), and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. His love for his friends and family will endure in our memories.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in McKinney, Texas, followed by a short reception. A live stream link of the service will be made available through social media. His ashes will be scattered, per his wishes, in Hawai’i at a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity in Jim’s memory.
