Mark Carl Anderson, 50, of Austin Texas died Monday June 20th in Austin Texas as the result of a pedestrian vehicle accident.
Mark was born December 2, 1960 to Herbert Carl and Shirley ?Sue? Ann (Hutton) Anderson in Libby Montana. His father died when Mark was 5 years of age. His mother married Ronald ?Ron?Kihs when Mark was 7. He was raised in a loving blended family.
Survivors include his Parents Ron and Sue Kihs of San Juan Capistrano, California. Brother David Schneider of Portland Oregon. Sisters Gwen (Kihs) Nelson and her husband Rick of Stevensville Montana, Teresa (Anderson) Hall and her husband Clare ?Randy? of Alvin Texas, Jennifer Marcellus of Axtell, Nebraska, and Chris (Kihs) White and her husband John of California. Nieces and Nephews Marissa and Matthew Nelson, Julie Wernecke and Clare ?Scotty? Hall, Megan, Sara, Michael and Elizabeth Marcellus, and Lindsey and Ayden White. He is survived by Many Aunts and Uncles in Montana, Oregon, California and Texas.
During his childhood Mark and his family lived in several states in the West and Midwest. He attended school in Cascade Locks, Phoenix and Talent Oregon and Missoula Montana.
He lived in Nebraska and Southern California before settling in Austin Texas.
As a child Mark always had a strong love for animals. No boy or man ever loved his dog more than Mark. His first dog was an Australian Shepherd named Frisky. Later in Life when Mark was afflicted with macular degeneration and lost vision he was joined by his best friend and companion Newburt the seeing eye dog. Mark and Newburt were together for 10 years. They were constant companions. Newburt was with Mark right up until his time of death.
Mark was employed by the Lighthouse for the Blind and worked as a Warehouse Technician for the last 4 years . He made many friends during his time in Austin. Mark had a kind and generous heart. He made efforts to keep in touch with his family across the United States and called his Mother at least once a week.
He was preceded in death by his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, Harold and Evelyn Hutton, Carl and Lucille Anderson, and Ernest and Bessie (Babe) Kihs.
