Robert Doyle Holliday, 81, of Spring, Texas passed away on March 27, 2020.

Born in Houston, Texas on October 3, 1938, Robert was the son of James Thomas Holliday and Estelle Frasure Holliday. Robert began high school at Concordia Austin, and ultimately graduated from Lutheran High School in Houston in 1956. He initially attended Concordia College in Austin from 1956-1958, spent one year at Concordia Senior College, Fort Wayne, Indiana, then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Education from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his Master's in Education from the University of Southern California. In addition, he received a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod teaching colloquy from Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota.

The service for Robert "Doc" Holliday has been set for Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. IH-35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. The Rev. Dr. David Lange and Rev. Walter Pohland officiating. David Lange lives in New Braunfels and Rev. Pohland is Sr. Pastor at Faith Lutheran Church/Georgetown). Doc's ashes will be interred in a receptacle at the cemetery after the chapel service. Memorials may be made in Robert Doyle (Doc) Holliday's memory for Scholarships to Concordia Lutheran High School; 1500 Royston Lane; Round Rock, Texas 78664.

Robert worked as an educator, administrator and coach in his 44-year career. From 1960-1966 he worked at Markus Lutheran School and Bethesda Lutheran School in St. Louis, Missouri. Then from 1966-1970 and again from 1972-1979 he served at Lutheran High School in Los Angeles, California. In between his years of service in Los Angeles, Robert taught at Hong Kong International School from 1970-1972. In 1979 he returned to St. Louis and served at Lutheran High South until 2001. After his retirement Robert and Jo Ann moved to Georgetown, Texas and from 2002 to 2004 Robert served at Concordia Academy in Austin, Texas. Robert officially retired in 2004.

He had a passion for travel and sports. During his life he visited numerous countries. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and loved college football.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Holliday; children, Heather Holliday and Michael Holliday of St. Louis, Missouri and one grandchild, Asher Guttman also of St. Louis; as well as, stepchildren Debra (Jim) Cook of Manvel, Texas, Donna Bruney of The Woodlands, Texas, and James (Sheri) Petersen of Humble, Texas. In addition, he had four step-grandchildren, Alec (Jolie) Bruney, Andrew Bruney, Adam Petersen and Bethany Petersen.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
