Gary Lewis Wilfley, entered rest on April 20, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born to LeRoy and Emma Wilfley in Aurora, MO on March 11, 1934. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1952 and DeVry University in Electronics.
Mr. Wilfley honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force and married his bride, Nancy J. Wilfley at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. A resident of Austin since 1968, he worked for N.A. Rocketdyne from 1957-1968, Tracor from 1968 - 1973 in Quality Control, and retired as a Long Distance Switchman from SWB and AT&T - in 1990. Gary enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Lee Alvin Wilfley. Survived by his wife, Nancy Wilfley of Austin, TX; son, Michael Wilfley and wife Kathy of Round Rock, TX; daughter, Jeanne Wilfley Henriquez and husband Douglas of Maryville, TN; grandchildren: Trey Henriquez and wife Ashley of McKinney, TX, Jordyn Wilfley of Austin, TX, Scott Henriquez and wife Azhley of San Antonio, TX, Corby Wilfley of Austin, TX, Taylor Henriquez of Maryville, TN; great-grandchild, Michael Kason Henriquez of San Antonio, TX.
Family will receive guests at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a Reception. The family extends a special thank you to Austin Hospice and Nurses Unlimited for their special care. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Austin Hospice.
