*Obituary

On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, Adam Paul Shorter of Round Rock, Texas, was taken from this world far too soon at the incredibly young age of 19.
Adam was born in Austin, Texas on October 22, 1998., Adam found his forever family with Paul and Joyce Shorter on October 15, 2008 and was adopted on November 20, 2009. Adam’s favorite subject was math and he could have easily gone into any field of study, especially with his interests in engineering and mechanics. Adam was a previous Raider for the Rouse High School football team. He was a member of Celebration church and was baptized in 2009. Adam was often found selflessly helping out his friends and family members, whether it was working alongside his big brother Adrian and nephew Bryce during summer break at their family owned and operated junk removal service, helping his friends move (with the only payment being a Dr. Pepper), working with his brother Jermaine to build a shed, volunteering to put together bunk beds for his nieces, accompanying his mom Joyce on countless shopping expeditions, picking up groceries and cooking with his Sister-in-law Julie, or entertaining his siblings, nieces, and nephews by throwing a football, running, playing sports, and cracking jokes that would have them rolling with laughter at themselves.

Adam was admired for his amazing fashionable sense of style, his gorgeous head of hair, keeping an immaculate room, going the extra mile at tackling household chores and yard work, his knowledge on Apple products, especially iPhones, and for being incredibly responsible with his belongings for one so young. When asked by his family members what would they miss most about Adam, some of the most memorable themes (amongst a list that was way too great in length to catalog it all) included his presence, the sound of his voice, his smile, his companionship, his hard work ethic, his jokes and sense of humor, his playfulness, the way he reacted to his theme song Adamrumski, his willingness to lend a helping hand and his competitive spirit.

Adam was survived by his adopted family: parents Paul and Joyce Shorter; brothers Adrian Coe (Julie) and Jermaine Shorter, sisters Jasmine Reyes, Ashanti, Taniya, and Tashiya Shorter, nephews Bryce Klingele, Cadence Coe, Jayden and Jordan Shorter, and nieces Mariah and Carris Coe, and Amaya Shorter, as well as a birth family (biological mother Jaime Garza, grandmother Gloria Rangel, brothers Ruben, Joseph, and Jeremiah, and sisters Alyssa, Analiah, Adriana, and Aliyanna), the love of his life and companion Julia, and countless other loved ones that adored him.

The wake will be on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home 14501 North Interstate 35 Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
