On March 19, 1937, Israel Peña was born to Guadalupe Peña and Francisco Farias Peña in Edinburg, Texas. He passed away in Austin, Texas on January 18, 2013.
Israel served in the US Army; after his service to his country he moved to Mercedes, Texas where worked as a truck driver and later became a business owner of a convenience store. After selling the business, Israel and his wife moved to Pflugerville, Texas where they have lived for 14 years. While in Pflugerville, he worked as a Security Officer.
He was preceded by his children Ana-Alicia Peña Konstam and Israel Peña, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alicia G. Peña; his children, Amy Lou Peña Pedraza, Gabino Peña (wife Margie Peña) and John David Peña (wife Roxanne Peña). He leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 1:00pm at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
