*Joseph Gillard Obituary
Published by Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - Leander/Cedar Park on Oct. 24, 2010.

Joe was born in Arnaudville, Louisiana on November 26, 1940. After graduating from college with a degree in mathematics he moved to New Orleans. It was there that he met his wife, Amina. With his bride, a passport and a job in the oil industry he traveled the world. First London for an extended honeymoon, then Sydney for the next four years. Eventually they made their way back to the States and Texas. It wasn't long before they left again, this time heading for north Africa and Algeria. A daughter with a broken leg and a couple of bouts of malaria was enough to convince him that it was time to return to Louisiana for good. Or so he thought. In 1987, Joe and his family moved to California where he started his second career in the nuclear industry as a chem.-tech. He even learned to fly. That might have been the end of it except that after retiring, Joe and Amina followed their children back to Texas: daughter, Kim, and her husband Perry Prater and son, Jason, and his wife Lorin. And then Joe started his third career: part-time golf enthusiast and full-time devoted grandpa. On October 24, Joe passed with his entire family present: wife, children and all four grandchildren. A memorial service for Joseph will be held Saturday, October 30 at 10:30 am at Wrench Funerals & Cremations, Leander, Texas Arrangements under the direction of Wrench Funerals & Cremations, Leander, Texas.
