292 GALLANT CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS
who died in Galveston while serving the Confederacy.
Two hundred and nine soldiers were buried here in what was Old Potters Field. In 1864 a section was designated in this cemetery as Soldier's Rest. The other 83 men are located in Old City, Episcopal and Old Catholic cemeteries.
