Mable Elizabeth Glass, 93, of Amarillo died Friday, April 15, 2005.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Holley Funeral Home Chapel in Canyon with the Rev. Gayle Bowen, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hereford.
Mrs. Glass was born Nov. 2, 1911, in Cottle County to E.L. Powell and Lula Laine Dulaney Powell. She married Brice Glass on Dec. 22, 1935, in Paducah. She lived in Paducah, Hereford and Dalhart before moving to Canyon in 1988. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon. Over the years, she baked and decorated cakes for various occasions while living in Hereford. She loved her church activities, teaching Sunday school classes and working with young people and was a Pink Lady Volunteer at Coon Memorial Nursing Home in Dalhart.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 23, 1979, in Dalhart; four brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include a son, Loyd Glass of Vega; a daughter, Jean Ricketts of Friona; three grandsons, James Ricketts of Ocean Springs, Miss., Tony Ricketts of Floydada and Zane Ricketts of Canyon; five granddaughters, Cheri Webb of Fort Worth, Melanie Kirkland, Cynthia Artho and Deborah McDonald, all of Vega, and Kerri Lewis of Coggon, Iowa; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
