Frank Prowell, 93, a former Hereford resident, passed away Monday, June 12, 2006, at the Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland.
Celebration of life services are under the direction of Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford, and will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Hereford with the Reverand Joe Shultz and Kyle Streun officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford, The family will receive friends at Parkside Chapel on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Mr. Prowell was born December 19, 1912, in Hamlin, a son of Joe Lee and Minnie Prowell. He married Dorotha Connelley on November 26, 1939, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. Prowell retired after owning Hereford Welding for several years and was a farmer. He was a member of the Hereford Kiwanis Club, a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Herford Masonic Lodge No. 849, the Khiva Shriners and a 50-year member of the First Batpist Church in Hereford.
Survivors include his wife, Dorotha of Midland; two daughters, Dollie Jo Parker and husband, Pat of Amarillo and Shari Maxey and husband, Ben of Midland; one brother, Bill Prowell and wife, Lousie, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister, Jo Hamrick of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

MIDLAND - Dorotha Prowell, 90, formerly of Hereford, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007.
Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Hereford with the Rev. Kyle Streun officiating. Interment will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford.
Mrs. Prowell was born April 9, 1917, in Raton, N.M., the daughter of Elmer and Cordelia Connelley. She married Frank Prowell on Nov. 26, 1939, in Albuquerque, N.M. Mrs. Prowell retired as the home economics teacher for the Hereford school system after 25 years of service. She was a member of Hereford Eastern Star, a past board of directors member for the Deaf Smith County Historical Society, a member of the La Platta Study Club, a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association, worked for the Deaf Smith County Extension Service and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hereford.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Dollie Jo Parker and husband Pat of Amarillo and Shari Maxey and husband Ben of Midland; three sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
