Funeral services for Mrs Stephen A Castlebury, 87, of
Vernon, Wilbarger County, a founder of Southern Methodist
University, will be held at 11a.m. Wednesday in the First
Methodist Church in Vernon, with burial in Eastview Cemetery, there.
Mrs Castlebury died Sunday in Vernon. A native of Douglasville, Georgia, Mrs Castlebury had lived in Vernon 67 years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Vernon and organizing of the Daughters of the America
Revolution in Vernon
She was the widow of a pioneer law enforcement officer rancher and Vernon
city Commissioner. Survivors: A son, S A Castlebury of Dallas, two
daughters, Mrs Leon Brown of Mission and Mrs Virgil Tims of Gladewater.
as sister, Mrs Janie Shaw of Wylie and five grandchildren.
