HEREFORD — Hilrey L. Aven, 91, of Hereford died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012.
Celebration of love and life services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Central Church of Christ with John Henley, minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford. Military honors will be provided by the Navy. Arrangements are by Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E. Sixth St.
Mr. Aven was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Plainview to Alonzo Lester and Mabel Estelle King Aven. He married his best friend, Mary Lou Allmon, on June 26, 1949, in Hereford.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard Aven of Denton, Lewis Aven of Austin and Mike Aven of Seguin; a daughter, Joycelyn Welch of Canyon; three sisters, Lila Pearl Jones of Lubbock, Lilian Carson of Sunnyside and Maurice Carson of Hale Center; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
