Earlene Brown Barnes, 85 of Vernon, Texas died on Thursday, March 5, 2015, in Vernon, Texas.
Private graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Toby Castleberry.
Earlene was born Sunday, February 16, 1930 in Chillicothe, Texas. She is the daughter of the late George Earl Brown and the late Lela Mae Combs Brown. She married Sidney O. Barnes on December 22, 1949 in Vernon, TX. He preceded her in death November 22, 1996. She had lived all of her life in Hardeman and Wilbarger County.
She was a 4-H adult leader, school class mom, active in parent & teacher association & longtime active member of Home Demonstration Club, she enjoyed baking brownies for friends and neighbors and arranging flowers for the church & friends she volunteered her time & services in assisting the sick & elderly. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was a former youth & teen Sunday School Teacher, GA director,
