Howard's continued support as a well know coach influenced many lives. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and in the Optimist Club. The membership Howard was most proud of was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and as Chairman of the Deacons at the time of his passing. He was a teacher of the word to all ages and enjoyed nothing more than being in church.
Howard married Peggy Vaughn on December 18, 1953. The couple were married for 53 wonderful years until Peggy was called home on November 18, 2006. The greatest legacy left by Howard is his love for Christ and his devotion to his family. Howard's true passion in life was teaching and witnessing about the love of Jesus Christ. His life will be missed but his legacy will continue forever.
