VERNON, Texas - Elizabeth Jackson, 97, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, in an Arlington, Texas, nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Eastview Cemetery with the Rev. Derrell Patterson, minister of the First Methodist Church in Vernon, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jackson was born Jan. 12, 1901, in Seymour, Texas. She and Irvin Lee Jackson were married in September 1942 in Yuma, Ariz.
She lived in Vernon where she worked as a bookkeeper and operator at Jackson Implement Company and John Deere Company. She moved to Wichita Falls in 1957 and moved to California in 1972.
She was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Order of the Eastern Star in California, and was a former active member of the First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Calif., and had been a Sunday School teacher for nine years.
Survivors include six nieces, Vivian Andrews of Sherman Oaks, Calif., Sue Carol Russell of Vernon, Faye Zinzer of Lubbock, Texas, Lillian Shell of Eugene, Ore., Bonnie Jo Sanford of Ralls, Texas, and Mary Ann Hyatt of Missouri City, Texas; a nephew, John L. Waggoner Jr. of Electra; and two stepdaughters, Doris Bodeker of Stamford and Janis Brown of Bellevue, Neb.
