Louis Chadwick "Chad" Palmer

DALLAS — Louis Chadwick "Chad" Palmer, 75, died Friday, Aug. 21, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, in Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Blankenship and the Rev. Don Childress officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Macon Cemetery, Mount Vernon. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born May 9, 1923, in Paris to Johnny Thomas and Ollie Tidwell Palmer, the oldest of four children. He grew up in Paris and served in World War II. After the war, he moved to Dallas and worked for Auto Convoy, retiring in 1985 after 40 years. He married Wilma Lawrence of Mount Vernon April 4, 1958. Since retirement, he had enjoyed spending time with his family at his farm in Mount Vernon.

Chad and Wilma have been faithful members of Bethany Baptist Church since 1966. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ray, and a sister, Myrt.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Wilma; sons, Johnny Louis Palmer and wife Julia of Rowlett, James Louis Palmer and wife Paula of Dallas; daughter, Dorinda Dawn Easley and husband Mike of Georgetown; grandchildren, Jordan Michael, Mark Louis Palmer of Denton, Sheila Palmer Willis and husband Tom of Austin, Jamie Marie, Melissa Lynn and Amanda Dawn Palmer of Vancouver, Wash.; and a sister, Lois Cuppfes of Wolfe City. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandchild.
