Ernest L. (Jack) Brownlow, 77, died Sunday, July 2,2000, in a Vernon hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan. Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park.
Brownlow was born March 18, 1923, in Cottle County a son of the late Walter and Lillie Brownlow. He married Modene Benton on Jan. 23, 1943,in Colorado Springs, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 19, 2000.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired courier with the Purolator Corporation and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Milton Brownlow of Vernon and Russell Brownlow of Dallas; a daughter, Judie Plumlee of Houston; a brother, Edwin (Buck) Brownlow of Vernon; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Brownlow was a retired LVN.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Leo Brownlow of Vernon; two sons, Milton Leo of Vernon and Russell of Dallas; a daughter, Judie Dene Plumlee of Houston; two brothers, Lowell Benton of Irrine, Colo., and Taylor Benton of Abilene, Texas; a sister, Nelda Moses of Albuquerque, N.M.; and four grandchildren.
