Myrtle Jo Butler, lovingly known as "Aunt Jo," age 75, entered into heavenly rest on May 28, 2013 at Mt. Vernon, TX. She was born to parents Newton Lee White and Ida Lee (Thompson) White on July 4th, 1937, in Bethel, OK. Formerly a resident of Idabel, OK, she had made her home in Mt. Vernon, TX for the past 40 years. She was a licensed practical nurse in Oklahoma and Texas and was of the non-denominational faith. She loved crocheting, quilting, and sewing, was a wonderful cook, enjoyed grooming her flowerbeds and yard, and took great pride in keeping her home warm and inviting. She was preceded in death by her only child, Ricky Dale Bartlett, her husband, Frederick "Freddie" Butler, both parents, Newton and Ida White, brothers, Gladwin White, Delbert White, Billy White, infant brothers James White and Donald White, sister Ima Lucille Geiger, an infant sister, Betty White, and a special niece, Linda Leach. She is survived by her brother, Tommy White, of Beebe, AR, numerous loving nieces and nephews who considered her their second mother, her beloved little dog, "Roho," and cat, "Two Shoes," and a host of family members and friends. She is also survived by special friends, Charles and Judy Bishop. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sam Harvey Funeral Home, Mt. Vernon, TX. Family visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 30th, from 6 to 8 pm. Graveside services will be Friday, May 31st, at 2:00 pm at Hopewell Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, TX
