George Donald Bell was born 1832 in Ft. Bend Texas and died Feb. 14, 1897 in DeWitt Co. Texas. He was a Confederate veteran, suffering a musket ball eye injury at The Battle of Shiloh. George Bell was married three times. His first wife was Mary Jane Edwards, death unknown. George's second wife, Margaret Jane Brown, died about 1870 in Mexico leaving him a widower with two daughters. One of those daughters Talitha Earning Bell died in the Galveston Flood of 1900. Mary Ann "Mollie" Bryant (1847-1922) of Missouri was George's third wife. He and Mollie had 3 children.
