Helen Caraway, 85, of Canyon died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, in Amarillo.
Helen Marie Caraway was born March 2, 1922, in Cyler to John Roy and Martha Ann Gandy Oglesby. Helen married Johnie B. Caraway on Sept. 2, 1945, in Dawn. She was a member of the University Church of Christ for 48 years. She was also a member of the Deaf Smith County Home Demonstration Club and the Dawn Music Club. She worked for the American Red Cross in Hereford for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 1, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice Gunter and husband Johnny of Fritch; two sons, Bob Caraway and wife Ann of Canyon and Bill Caraway and wife Becky of Dawn; two sisters, Hazel Stewart and husband Reece of Dawn and Arless Stewart and husband Ray of Amarillo; a brother, Robert Oglesby and wife Eldine of Sweeney; seven grandchildren; and eight great-granchildren.
