HEREFORD - Travis Shields, 69, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008.
Mr. Shields was a captain of the Deaf Smith County Sheriff's Office reserve officers. He owned Cowboy Appliances for many years and was past president of the Hereford Riders Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Ellen Marie Shields Maxwell of Cleveland, Okla.; a son, Travis Allen Shields of Dallas; and four grandchildren.

HEREFORD - Elvis Marie Cross Shields, 64, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, in Amarillo.
Mrs. Shields married George Travis Shields on June 19, 1960, in Bellview, N.M. She worked for Hereford State Bank for more than 20 years and was a volunteer for the Hereford Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Travis Allen Shields of Dallas; a daughter, Ellen Marie Maxwell of Cleveland, Okla.; her mother, Lula M. Cross of Bellview; three brothers, Don Cross of Clovis, N.M., Honel Cross of Hereford and Billy Cross of Bushland; and four grandchildren.
