C.M. "Sonny" Hankins, 79, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in Glen Rose.

Graveside service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, in Hankins-Terry Cemetery in Somervell County.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wiley Funeral Home.

Sonny was born March 7, 1933, in Glen Rose, to George Carlton Hankins and Julia Salonia Moore Hankins. Sonny worked for General Dynamics for a few years prior to serving in the U.S. Army from Dec. 1953 until Dec. 1955. He then worked for General Dynamics for a period of time before becoming a dairyman. He had lived in Stephenville since 1957.

Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Julia Hankins, and a brother, Pagel Ross Hankins.

Survivors: Sons, Farrell D. Hankins and Monte D. Hankins, both of Stephenville; brothers, W.E. Hankins of Glen Rose, Leo Hankins of Glen Rose, Roy Wayne Hankins and wife, Joy, of Chalk Mountain, Donald Lynn Hankins and wife, Tracy, of Stephenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
