Graveside services For Rudolph J. "Rudy Gaddis, 80, Kilgore, formerly of Tyler, were held Tuesday at the Overton City Cemetery, with the Reverend Jimmy Tucker officiating, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mr. Gaddis died Saturday, November 11, 2006 in Kilgore. He was born September 3, 1926 in Ben Wheeler, Texas to Joe Marlin And Mattie Gaddis.
Mr. Gaddis was very influential in the East Texas area for his Country and Western music. He was a great country and western singer and song writer. He was a recording artist for country and western music as well as country gospel. Mr. Gaddis hosted the first county and western music televison show to air on KLTV, Channel 7, Tyler, "The Rudy Gaddis Lone Star Rangers" show. Some of Rudys' greatest hit were 'Old Eli and Garden of Roses. He also played with the Fowler Play Boys.
Rudy was a lifelongresident of Smith County and served in the US Navy during W W II.
Rudy was preceded in death by his wife Paulette Gaddis, June 29, 2006.

Graveside services for Paulette D. Gaddis, 62, Tyler, TX are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 2, at the Overton City Cemetery, with the Reverend Jimmy Tucker officiating, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton TX.
Mrs. Gaddis died Thursday, June 29,2006 in a Tyler TX hospital. She was born August 19, 1943, in Snyder TX to the late Alpha B. and Margaret Vorterkunz Linville. She was a longtime resident of Tyler TX .
She is survived by her husband, Rudy Gaddis, Tyler; three sisters, Carolyn Rodgers, Abilene, Josephine Ivey, Sarasota, Florida, and Charlotte Holloway, Hobbs, New Mexico; and three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Morgan and Katherine Miller, Troup, John and Sydney Gaddis, Overton, and Joe and Evelyn Taylor, Palestine.
