Drury "Drew" R Cole was born to Loyd Cole and Elizabeth Driver on May 9, 1849 in Forsyth Co., Georgia.
The correct spelling of his name is unknown - since it is spellled different ways on different documents. His death certificate shows only D R Cole.
He came with his family to Rusk Co,. Texas in the early 1870's.
He married Amanda Johnson on September 15, 1881 in Rusk Co., TX. They had a daughter born about 1884, it is not known if there were other children. Amanda died in 1893.
Drew is on the 1900 Census in Millville, Rusk Co.,TX, living with his brother, Marcellus and his family. On the 1910 and 1920 Census in Rusk Co., he is living with his daughter Daisy Thompson and her family. On the 1930 Census Rusk Co., Tx., he is living with his nephew Edgar L Gibson and his family.
He died on September 6, 1938 in Overton, Rusk Co., TX. He is buried in Crims Chapel.
