NETTIE INEZ SPEARS
Funeral services were held for Nettie Inez Spears Saturday, May 7, at 10:00 a.m. at the Harrell Funeral Home Chapel.
Mike Whittington of the East Side Church of Christ served as officiating minister. Burial was in the Barbee Cemetery.
Mrs. Spears, a resident of Dublin for 17 years, passed away May 4 in the Stephenville Hospital at the age of 55. Born June 29, 1921 in Snyder, Texas, she was the daughter of Phylander J. Whitefield and Gertie Alice Steele.
June 28, 1942 she married Donald C. Spears and 4 children were born to this union. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959 and one child at the age of 9. Mrs. Spears was a member of the Patrick Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Valesca Inez McMillian of Morrison, Oklahoma; two sons, Roger Earl Spears of Stephenville and James Dale Spears of Dublin; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Lindsey of Baytown, Texas and Essie Lee Miller of Glendale, California; four brothers, Emmett and Wille D. Whitefield of Dublin; Melvin J. Whitefield of Mt. Pleasant, and E. E. Whitefield of Dublin.
