Services for Holly Lynn Propes, 24, Tyler, formerly of Overton, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 18, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, with the Reverends Atwell Hankins and Kay Alewine officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery.
Miss Propes died Sunday, January 16,near Overton. She was born May 21, 1980, in Henderson to [Sherman] Charles and Debra Louise Finley Propes. She loved horses and barrel racing. She was a graduate of Overton High School and attended Kilgore College.
She was an expert in auto paint and body repair and excelled in a field that was male dominated, where she earned the respect of her peers and made it her own. She was employed by Killion Paint Works, Palestine.
Miss Propes was a member of the First Assembly of God, Overton.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Debra Finley Propes, July 29, 1997 and by her grandfather, Sherman Propes, Novemeber 2, 1999.
Survivors include a special friend, Charmin Polozola, Tyler; her father and stepmother, Charles and Kay [Stron] Propes, Overton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clint and Jennifer Bates, Quitman, Cliff and Annita Bates, Overton, and Christoper and Tina Propes, Tatum; her grandparents, John and Louise Finley, Lake Tyler; and Jackie Propes, Overton.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Bates, Clint Bates, Chris Propes, Brandon Ross, Jerid Newby, and Gerald Dee Newby.
