ELECTRA — J C Alexander, age 88, of Electra, Texas, passed away August 14, 2010, in Electra.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church in Electra with Rev. Bob Lee, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, and Rev. Mike Miller, Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls, officiating. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

J C was born November 14, 1921, in Dunlap, Tennessee, to Charles Walter Alexander and Mabel Clara Lewis Alexander. He moved to Electra in 1929 and graduated from Electra High School.

After graduation, he worked in the oilfield. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater for two years. When his tour of duty was completed, he returned to Electra and worked for an oilfield supply company for two years. He then started working with his father at Alexander Construction Company building houses. J C designed and built the First United Methodist Church. He also built St. Paul's Catholic Church and over one hundred-twenty homes in the Electra area before he retired in 1988.

J C married Dorothy Fay Warnock on February 6, 1949, in Vernon, Texas. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2009.

He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Electra Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Green and husband, Larry of Iowa Park, Texas; two sons, Larry Alexander and wife, Cathy of Arlington, Texas, and Stanley Alexander and wife, Karen of Electra; two grandchildren, Kristen Green of Iowa Park, Texas, and Katherine Alexander of Irving, Texas; eight step-grandchildren; one great-grandson, Tristan Polvadore of Iowa Park, Texas; and six step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Sanders, Blake Burroughs, Logan Burroughs, Allen Robb, Gary Nightingale, and Wayne Cranford.

The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, Box 846, Electra, Texas, 76360._

Dorothy Alexander, age 88, of Electra, Texas passed away Monday, June 15, 2009 in Wichita Falls.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church of Electra with Rev. Bob Lee, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Electra and Rev. Tom Medley, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Howe officiating. Interment will follow in the Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra, located at 420 North Waggoner.

Dorothy was born September 6, 1920 in Bluff Dale, Texas to Read F. Wharnock and Maude Landers Wharnock.

She graduated from Stephenville High School and then from North Texas State University in Denton with a degree in education. While attending college she was employed as a secretary for a State Representative.

She and J.C. Alexander were married February 6, 1949 in Vernon, Texas. They moved to Electra where the made their home.

Dorothy was an active member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a life member of the United Methodist Women. She served in all capacities of every committee and organization in the church. She was one of the pioneers for the Meals on Wheels program in Electra. Dorothy was an expert at sending cards for all occasions to her family and friends. She loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband J.C. of Electra; one daughter, Carol Green and husband, Larry of Iowa Park; two sons, Larry Alexander and wife Cathy of Arlington, Texas and Stanley Alexander and wife Karen of Electra, one sister, Verlyn Jaresh of Benbrook, Texas, two grandchildren, Kristen-Green of Iowa Park and Katherine Alexander of Irving, Texas, eight step-grandchildren, one great-grandson, Tristan Polvadore and six step-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, Box 846, Electra, Texas 76360
