Rev. Loyd Lester, pastor officiated in funeral services held in the First Baptist Church, Wednesday afternoon, for William Floyd Amonett, age 57, who died of a heart attack at his home here, early Tuesday. The James B. Totten and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Interment was in Electra cemetery.
A native of Tennessee, the deceased came to Texas with his parents when about five years old. He came to Electra several years ago and until his health failed was employed with the Waggoner Refinery. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church and a leader in young people's work.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Bruce and Crindon Amonett of Electra; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Amonett of Floydada; five brothers, Leo Amonett of Petersburg, Posey Amonett of Farmer, W. H. Amonett of Haskell, Thayne Amonett of Crowell and Clyde Amonett of Snyder; three sisters, Mrs. K. West of McCamey, Mrs. F. S. Stevens of Floydada and Mrs. Earl Whitaker of Beaumont; and one grandchild._
