Final rites for Ruth V. Andrews, 70, who died Dec. 28th in a Wichita Falls nursing home, were held Saturday, December 31st in First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Safford, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Electra Cemetery under direction of Totten-day Funeral Home.

Miss Andrews was born March 8, 1913 in Childress and had lived most of her life in Electra. She was a veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre. She was a retired accountant serving the past 35 years for P.G. Krohn Inc. and Allen Krohn. She was active in church and civic affairs and served for many years as clerk, secretary and treasurer of First Presbyterian Church. She was among organizers of Electra Memorial Hospital and served as an elected Trustee of that board until her retirement. She was named "Woman of the Year" in 1973 by Electra Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include: her mother, Mrs. W.R. Andrews of Electra; two sisters, Norma McGann of Electra and Faye Steele of Plainview; three brothers, Reagan Andrews of San Antonio; Homer Andrews of Electra and D.D.(Bud) Andrews of Dallas._
