Funeral services for A. L. Austin Jr., 52, 3515 University, Wichita Falls, who died Tuesday, Jan. 12, in a Lubbock hospital, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, from the Hampton-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel, Wichita Falls.
Officiating was the Rev. A.W. Harrison of Oklahoma City. Burial was in Electra Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Spearow, Leo Glass, Henry Frost, Lavonne Bell, Don Cohen and Babe Wright.
Austin, an employee of a Houston engineering firm, was born Feb. 2, 1918, in Bennington, Okla. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Austin of Electra; a daughter, Mrs. Darrell Sadler of Duncan, Oklahoma: two stepdaughters, Mrs. Gary Jackson of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Terry Metcalf of Houston; a son Terry Austin of Duncan, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. B. J. Hollingworth of Electra, Mrs. D. R. Hopkins of Lubbock and Mrs. H. D. Sharp of Tulsa, Okla; two brothers, D. L. of Houston and H. R. of Abilene; and three grandchildren._
