Foster Trammell Bean died at his home at age 98. He had an amazing life !! He attended the Kilgore school system and was valdictorian of his High School graduating class. He went to business school in Tyler, Tx. before moving to Houston, Tx. to become a stenographer for the Texas Company (TEXACO). While in Houston he went to law school to become an attorney. When the oil field came into production in the East Texas area, Foster and his wife, "Bobbie" (Ella Irene b.1902-d. 1985), moved to Kilgore in 1931 and he practiced law for 70 years. He was mayor of Kilgore for over 20 years (1961-1981). He was a member of the Rotary Club with a 66 year perfect attendace. He was one of the founders and the first president of the Kilgore Federal Savings and Loan Association and was a longtime board member of Citizen Bank. He was a longtime member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church. Foster and 'Bobbie' and buried in the Kilgore City Cemetery.
