Mr. Nelson Byron Baird, 62, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999 in Sherman, Texas. Memorial services were held 10 a.m. Sat., Aug. 7, 1999 from Electra Memorial Park with Mr. Grant Goodman, son-in-law of Sherman, Texas, officiating. Interment was under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Electra.

Mr. Baird was born April 24, 1937 in Silverton, Texas. He and Judy White were married Oct. 3, 1963. He was a graduate of Electra High School and attended Amarillo College. He was a member of the UAW Local 218. He had served in the Texas National Guard and the U.S. Army. He was employed as an electrical assembler at Bell Helicopter/Textron.

Survivors include his wife Judy of Midlothian, Tx; his mother, Martha Baird of Electra; one son and daughter in law, Byron and Shelly Baird of Farmers Branch, Tx; one daughter and son in law, Nan and Grant Goodman of Sherman, Tx; one brother, Charles Baird of Vernon, Tx; One sister, Sylvia Flusche of Electra; three grandchildren, Lauren Baird of Farmers Branch, Caden Goodman, of Sherman, Tx. and Claire Goodman of Sherman, Tx. Memorials may be made to Preceptor Omicron Theta of Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 311, Electra, Tx._
